What is the Galactic Oligarchy?

Since the beginning of interstellar flight, humanity has been focussed on one thing and one thing only: expansion. They built the corporate Earth Oligarchy and its many affiliates to aid in their colonization of the Milky Way’s endless star systems. By the 2230s, the Earth Oligarchy was reorganized as the Galactic Oligarchy, and their desire for expansion extended into the far reaches of space. Humanity wants to rule the galaxy, and not everyone is happy about it. The Galactic Oligarchy series is the story about humanity’s quest for control.

Who writes it?

The Galactic Oligarchy is an open source multimedia project created by Mitchell Sheppard. Every aspect of the Galactic Oligarchy universe, from writing to art is crowdsourced. Contributing is easy. If you’d like to contribute to the Galactic Oligarchy, email Mitchell Sheppard at Galacticoligarchy@gmail.com with a sample of your work. If we like what you do, it’ll become canon and you’ll get full credit for the work you’ve submitted, as well as a portion of any monetary value it generates. All media types are welcomed.

  • Mitchell Sheppard is currently attending the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he plans on graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business management. When Mitch isn’t working on the Galactic Oligarchy or at school, he makes utilitarian art under the brand name Vanguard Forge.

Harriet Smith: Writer, editor

  • Harriet Smith is currently attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she plans on graduating with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. When Harriet isn’t working on the Galactic Oligarchy or at school, she likes to hang out with her two jack russell terriers and write poetry on a vintage typewriter.
